A building site job of a very special kind took place at the end of March: the bucket conveyor for the recycled asphalt elevator was the last remaining component to be fitted to a Uniglobe 200 parallel drum asphalt mixing plant at the BAS company site in Sursee (Switzerland). After detailed discussions between site management and project management, the decision was made to utilise a helicopter. The mobile crane was dispatched early from the site to optimise costs and the final lift was made by a helicopter supplied by Rotex.

This procedure was the most cost-effective solution as it was possible to combine the flight with another assignment. The whole job took a mere ten minutes. To do the same job with a mobile crane would have taken around four hours including set-up and attaching additional counterweights.
