The Intermat welcomed 1,320 exhibitors who displayed their products on an area of 180,000 m². Given the overall economic conditions, everyone was expecting the 2009 Intermat to be a gloomy affair. Ammann had decided to welcome its partners and customers on an area of 2,280m², with all our equipment, technologies, services and financing facilities concentrated on one stand inside hall 5. Our Group's Swiss roots were highlighted by a roller in the colors of the national flag. According to our visitors, our stand was one of the most open and welcoming at the fair. Thanks to thorough organization we were able to receive our guests in excellent conditions.

Visit by the President of the French National Civil Engineering Federation

The organizers chose our stand to host the inaugural visit on the opening day, so we were able to appear in front of the journalists and cameras alongside Patrick Bernasconi, President of the French National Civil Engineering Federation.

Our distinguished visitors were briefed on our environmental activities, and they were eager to discuss this subject in greater depth during their visit to our stand. Our entire compaction range was showcased, with the ACE system on a platform featuring three models equipped with this high-tech product; a driving simulator for a tandem roller was an additional attraction. The Systems Division also presented its latest technologies such as Amdurit, foam bitumen, the new burner, the electrical fault detection system, automatic equipment and recycling methods; and to provide concrete evidence of our know-how, visitors could watch a mixer in operation and examine the main component of a SpeedyBatch from SIM-Ammann. Our guests could then take the walkway across our 'Ammann Road' to the Ammann-Yanmar stand featuring an impressive range of excavators and lighting towers. The new member of the family, the SV 20 mini-excavator, took pride of place on a platform where it aroused great interest among the visitors. Orders were recorded for all the product sectors on show, proof of the confidence that our partners felt as they visited our stand.

More than ever, Ammann is the partner of choice

At the Ammann evening on 22 April, guests were shown the new Ammann film. Mr Schneider-Ammann opened his address by calling for confidence in the future and encouraging effort and perseverance, striking the same note of confidence and faith in the future as Mr Yvon Jacob, President of Fimeca.

Thanks to the commitment and discipline of all concerned, and their adherence to instructions, we can say that the Intermat 2009 once again enabled Ammann to prove to our visitors that – more than ever before - we are the partner of choice.
