Ammann's first fully hydraulic vibratory plate with continuous forward and reverse operation was the DVH 6010, dating from the 1980s. Nowadays, the 'Heavy Series' includes five machines with 3-shaft technology and hydrostatic Orbitrol control, and there are also three further machines with conventional exciter technology (also featuring Orbitrol). Ammann has already equipped far more than 30000 vibratory plates with this tried-and-tested technology since 1981.
Orbitrol Means Far More than Comfortable Operation
Steering Orbitrols, which operate on the basis of the well-known power steering system, are used in a variety of construction machines and vehicles. In the case of a vibratory plate, the operator handles this function. The Orbitrol control ensures optimized handling comfort, increased flexibility and enhanced safety; it also saves time and makes it considerably easier to operate these machines, which can weigh anything between 400 kg and almost 700 kg.
Typical application areas include trench compaction (and compaction of the last section is also possible here). There is no longer any need to waste time on plate changeover. Even on heavy subsoils and under the most difficult conditions, an Ammann vibratory plate still offers adequate forward travel and climbing characteristics. Thanks to the Orbitrol control, kerbstones, building foundations and embankments can also be approached cautiously with millimeter precision, so injuries caused by trapping or twisting the hands are now a thing of the past.
In a nutshell: a safe, cost-effective and user-friendly solution!
