Ulrich Andreas Ammann is retiring from operative business. As a representative of the fifth Ammann generation he has been loyally involved with his family's company all his life. Ulrich Andreas Ammann started working for his father's company on 4 September 1972 when he was 26 years of age. Now, 37 years later, he is taking a step back. Thus ends the impressive career of a multi-facetted, hands-on practitioner.
He participated in hunting expeditions with his grandfather Arthur (1890 – 1958). When his grandfather died unexpectedly his father Ulrich (1921 - 2006) had to adopt full responsibility for the entire business at the age of 37. Personal inclinations and an industrial environment led him to pursue the study of mechanical engineering with a focus on the science of management at Zurich's Federal Institute of Technology.
Ulrich Andreas Ammann has made a lasting mark on the company: together with his team he introduced the first computers to Ammann group, as well as a new generation of mixers; he also championed further developments in asphalt mixing plant processes. At a later stage he was responsible for managing the group's foreign subsidiaries and for an enhanced emphasis on rollers.
After his retirement from operative business Ulrich Andreas Ammann will remain active as a member of the supervisory board.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Ulrich Andreas Ammann for his long-standing and tireless engagement for Ammann and wish him all the best for the future.
