It is a tortuous mountain road in a hillside location permanently exposed to the threat of landslides and one that has often shown signs of subsidence in the past: the road up to the town of Halden near Sonthofen (Germany) needs to be completely rebuilt over a stretch measuring one kilometre. Various Ammann compaction machines are being used in addition to large machinery to complete the demanding road-building project. They include an AVH 6030 vibratory plate with a three-shaft exciter and an ACA 750 add-on compactor with a centrifugal force of 90 kN as well as a Rammax trench roller.
Only vibratory plates with three-shaft technology used
Both Michael Franzil and senior site manager Wolfgang Meidert are convinced by the innovative three-shaft technology behind the Ammann machines: "The vibratory plates run smoothly and my team is happy to work with them", reports Michael Franzil. "Their three-shaft technology provides a measurable advantage when it comes to compaction." The ACA add-on compactors have also proven their worth, especially in trench construction and incline compaction. "Add-on compactors deliver perfect results even on cohesive substrates and in difficult terrain. What’s more, a fully hydraulic quick-changer makes switching add-on devices a safe and easy process."

Clear customer statement: "Three-shaft technology from Ammann delivers significantly more compaction output.
