The latest generation of AP 240 H hydrostatic pneumatic tyred rollers is based on long-standing experience and was developed according to most recent technological and ergonomic insights. The modular design of the basic frame allows for fast ballasting (3 m³, 14 t) and ideal positioning of engine and driver's cab.
Various additional weights can be installed to optimise ballasting for the 4 + 4 smooth rubber tyres. A hydrostatic drive provides smooth acceleration and deceleration and serves as a service brake; it is combined with a mechanical brake and guarantees a high safety standard at every drive level.
The AP 240 H is designed for compacting bituminous asphalt layers as well as mineral mixes. A high-impact kneading effect is a property unique to pneumatic tyred rollers. The high wheel load and elasticity of pneumatic tyres provide a constant sealing effect. A central tyre inflation system takes care of the right pressure, including when the vehicle is in operation. The roller's current design offers a 1 x 1 m view in front of and behind the roller. The front steering axle has isostatic suspension with a paired dipping arrangement.
